Been mainlining the last three trades of Vaughan's Y: The Last Man as I spoiled myself at the comic store. It's a what if only a 20-something guy Yorick and his pet monkey survived a plague that wiped out all the men on the planet comic. Yorick reminds me a little of spartacusjones.

There are awesome lines like: "Rose, anyone who finds my g-spot on the first try is allowed to call me Allison." and "Please don't. I've seen enough Spock/Bones slash fiction for one night, thanks." Sometimes, I'm just like 'oh, Vaughan, you're such a fanboy and Yorick's just your little Mary Sue. It's cute.'

Also the last issue of New Avengers rocked my world with Hawkeye/Scarlet Witch. Dude. Just dude. This is why I *heart* Bendis.

Then I read New Avengers: Illuminati and it sucked. It was like the crappy fanfic Bendis dug out his closet because Quesada made him do it. Because I really believed at any moment that they were going to kill Xavier, Iron Man, Black Bolt, the Atlantean Prince, Reed Richards, and Dr. Strange. Ummm...no.

Okay, neighbors, why are you playing loud music now. It's over a half hour after the New Year. Seriously, this is why I didn't go to bed earlier.

I gave Essene vols 3 and 4 of The Last Man for Christmas. We'll get the next two in January for her birthday, then the rest in February for my bday. It's my first book ever and I really love it.

the fact that there isn't an active femslash fandom for that comic? is one of the (many) reasons I'd like to bitch slap femslash fandom as a whole.

You'd definitely think that there would be more femslash for it. (I'd probaly write some myself if I was more inclined toward lit-based fandoms. It took X-Men having movies before I started reading X-Men fic.)
