Links from around my flist:
Grey's Anatomy wins. This makes up for the things in the season finale that made me wince.
Forever Pregnant - the U.S. government loses, again. I'm not a walking incubator for the future spawn of America. I would like health care for me and people who are born and living outside a womb, thank you very much. Also I would like doctors to respect my choice of being a Crazy Cat Lady. Anti-contraceptive and pro-breeding movements just make me want to change my sexuality from bi to lesbian.
Jumping the Lesbian Shark: Network TV - As we come to the end of this week's upfront presentations, the annual event when the TV networks unveil their primetime schedules for the upcoming season, one thing is clear: the only thing disappearing faster than network news viewers are lesbians.
isiscolo talks about friends and lj-friends, monologue and dialogue, filters and f-lock and this definitely falls into a lot of my thinking concerning my flist organization. It's especially relevant considering my drifting fandom interests.
The top 10 TV fictional characters I wouldn't sleep with, even if you paid me:
1. Dean and Sam Winchester (Supernatual) - They just don't do it for me. There's too much little boy and badness.
2. Logan Echolls (VMars) - Everyone around him dies and he clearly has Issues concerning power and relationships.
3. Spike (AtS/BtVS) - He would annoy me with his whole sappy Romance routine. I'd end up staking him.
4. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd (Grey's) - I think this is a given, considering he's bear food.
5. Mason (Dead Like Me) - Drug addicts are bad. I know from dating experience.
6. Willow (BtVS) - Way too clingy, a total second date bring the U-Haul and turkey baster lesbian, and Needy.
7. Susan (Desperate Housewives) - Everyone around her is prone to tragety, which she survives and uses for her gain.
8. Justin (QaF) - So annoying. I want to smack him all the time.
9. Lee Adama (BSG) - Emo boys are so 1998.
10. Connor (AtS) - I just don't get it.
Top 10 fictional TV characters that I've probably already sexed up, in my head There's only 10 spots?
1. Charles Gunn (AtS) - If this wasn't obvious, I don't know what is.
2. Susan Ivanova (B5) - Mmmmm. Ivanova is God.
3. Benton Fraser (due South) - Far far too pretty.
4. Geordi LaForge (TNG) - Totally my first crush ever who I still love.
5. Jadzia Dax (DS9) - She's smart, fun, hot, and has spots.
6. Kaylee (Firefly) - Adorable and I definitely have a thing for engineers.
7. John Sheppard (SGA) - Yes, I am whore for his stupidity.
8. Cordelia Chase (AtS/BtVS) - Snarkful beauty.
9. Cristina Yang (Grey's) - Delightfully uncomfortable with the touchy feel-y crowd.
10. Mac (VMars) - Cute geek girls rule
Did I mention,

on 2006-05-19 07:47 am (UTC)Although I will admit to finding Dean Winchester unbearably hot.
And, eeshk! Don't defriend me! I know I haven't posted in...a really long time, butbutbut...*flails*

Honey, you're not marrying him, you're *fucking* him-very big difference. Not much room for sappy there. :)

on 2006-05-21 10:04 pm (UTC)I'd ask my doctors if I could have a hysterectomy, but as a young woman with no major reproductive problems, they would never help me to arrange a procedure like that. It's not as if I ever want children, so I don't see why I should have to go through dysmenorrhoea and menorrhagia because of the overwhelmingly patriarchal and pro-healthy-women-being-capable-of-pregnancy-whether-heterosexual-or-not frakking "values" of the majority of Western society. (Eastern is even worse!)
Kaylee and Jadzia, ITA! Also, Shep is pretty cute with that hair. For a guy. I'd rather elope with Elizabeth though... *drool*

on 2006-05-22 07:25 am (UTC)I can understand why non-necessary invasive surgery isn't something doctors want to do. I would be less worried if there wasn't so much anti-contraceptive rhetoric and the overall impression I've gotten from a lot of men that babies or trying to prevent babies/STDs is not their responsibility.
Oh, if this list had been longer, Elizabeth would've made it. Ten people is pretty limited.
