OMGWTF Rain
Dec. 4th, 2007 11:35 amI'm a little out of it right now due to having my internet unplugged
at home and my entire apartment torn up.
Woke up on Monday morning to Jason being like, "OMG WTF, why are my
pants wet? Am I crazy or still asleep?"
Turn on lights to find out that half my bedroom and half my living
room are soaking wet with rain water. We thought it was coming in from
the under the front door as there's a drain right there. But no, it
was also coming through the cement walls. (I live in a basement.)
Turns out that in a big storm, the drainage, even though we're on a
hill, goes too much into the ground and into my apartment.
Thankfully, I don't think anything was damaged. I'm a pretty clean
person so I don't tend to leave a lot of stuff on the floors. And the
landlords are responsible for care of the flooring and building.
Currently, half my living room carpet is ripped up and so is my entire
bedroom. Jason and T helped me disassemble my bed. And there's nothing
in my bedroom. It took from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. yesterday to stop the
rain from coming in. No professional would even look at my place until
the water had stopped coming in. Thankfully, the roomie's bedroom,
kitchen, and bathroom are just fine, and I left the landlords in
charge of monitoring it last night (they live upstairs).
I spent last night at Jason's (which is really too far from work) and
we watched movies (Natural Born Killers and Wilby Wonderful) as the
guy doesn't have internet at his house.
In conclusion: I hate rain. I want to move back to the desert. Even if
my mom reported they were having a big snow storm. I do not appreciate
you, storm.
